Editorial policy
Honest Arts Journal aims to make art easier to approach without pretending that every question has a single answer. Our articles should be clear about what is known, what is interpretation and what remains uncertain.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable sources and take care with names, dates, materials and historical context. Interpretive claims are presented as readings rather than settled facts. When an article cannot establish a point with confidence, we narrow the claim or say what is uncertain.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a partnership. A partner does not receive control over our conclusions or a promise of favourable coverage. We do not invent access, expertise, testing or first-hand experience.
Corrections
If a factual error is identified, we review it and correct the article when warranted. Significant changes should be made clear to readers; a correction does not mean quietly replacing a disputed interpretation with a different one.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is labelled plainly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is the case, the image is identified accordingly and is not presented as documentary evidence or an artwork by a named artist.
